Based on a true story, the film follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a $300 million deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.

Truth is stranger than fiction While based on a true story, the producers took a lot of liberties with the true story. I’m not sure why because the true story is much better than this Hollywood version. They were caught because the ammo warehouse where they were doing the repackaging of Chinese ammunition in Albania…exploded and killed 26 people in March 2008 (look up Gerdec explosion, it was the size of a small nuclear bomb). Great Movie The movie had plenty of action and humor to go along with the entertainment value. I found myself rooting for the main characters to succeed throughout the film, which helps the audience to feel both the joy and pain of their unbelievable adventure. The fact that is was based on a true story gave it that much more of a wow factor, regardless of how much Hollywood embellished on some of the factual details as they related to Gov’t acquisition. I would watch this film again and also recommend…
